Course Levels
AI is now part of day-to-day delivery in the built environment.
But the real differentiator isn't whether you use AI it's whether you can control it, assure it, and defend the outputs.
That's why this programme is structured into progressive learning levels from safe personal use to organisational accountability.
Complexity increases. Responsibility increases.
Level 1 Foundation
Use AI confidently, not blindly
Learn what AI is (and isn't), where it helps, where it creates risk, and how to use it safely as a built environment professional without losing credibility.
You'll learn:
Best for: Everyone starting here.
Level 2 Practitioner
Safe Delivery
Use AI confidently in real project workflows while staying in control of quality, accuracy, and professional responsibility.

Best for: Senior QSs, PMs, commercial leads, line managers.
Level 4 Steward
Governance in Practice
Turn Responsible with AI from an idea into a working system across the organisation policies, registers, controls, training, and evidence.

Level 5 Sponsor

Best for: Directors, Partners, Heads of Function.
The question isn't "How much did AI do?"
It's how much did you drive the output and assure its quality?
Built on recognised standards, made practical for the built environment
"Responsible with AI" is not just opinion-based AI Training Platform. It is developed from recognised standards and guidance, then translated into what professionals actually need: how to use AI well, how to control risk, and how to remain accountable for outputs.
Our course framework is mapped to key principles from:
RICS Professional Standard (Global)
Responsible use of artificial intelligence in surveying practice (Sept 2025), including baseline knowledge expectations, data governance, reliance and assurance, and transparency with clients
ISO/IEC 42001:2023
an AI management system standard that supports governance structures, role clarity, risk assessment and treatment, documented controls, and continual improvement
UK Government AI Playbook (Feb 2025)
a practical set of principles for responsible with AI adoption, including understanding limitations, using AI securely, applying meaningful human control, and putting assurance in place
What this means in practice: you learn how to use AI with confidence, while keeping outputs defensible, evidence-led, and professionally credible.

Resources & FAQs
What are the levels, and who are they for?
Each level matches how AI shows up in real organisations: Level 1 Foundation (Awareness): safe everyday use and core risks Level 2 Practitioner (Operational Practitioner): using AI day-to-day for work outputs Level 3 Reviewer: checking AI-assisted work before it goes out Level 4 Steward: governance-minded oversight (controls, evidence, escalation) Level 5 Sponsor: leadership decision-making, risk appetite, accountability and adoption strategy
Do I have to complete every level?
No. Most people take the level that matches their role today. Organisations often assign levels by responsibility (e.g., practitioners take Practitioner; line managers take Reviewer; governance leads take Steward).
How long does the pathway take?
It depends on your starting level. Levels are designed to be completed at your own pace, with an assessment at the end. Courses are provided on a lifetime access basis, allowing for updates, reassessments and refreshers.
What makes the methodology different from "AI basics" courses?
CAIG Educate is built around defensible professional practice, not tech hype. You learn: • How to spot common AI failure modes (confident errors, bias, missing context) • How to stay on the right side of confidentiality and data risk • How to verify, disclose, and quality-check AI-assisted outputs • How oversight works (who reviews what, what evidence matters)
